Alexander Technique
Alexander Technique is a gentle method for re-educating mind and body towards improvements in areas like balance, coordination, posture and breathing.
Most of us have acquired unhelpful habits of movement and posture since childhood. Often there will be restrictive patterns of muscle tension that make things unnecessarily effortful and which distort the body, putting different parts of our structure under strain.
People often alternate between this state of “trying too hard” and the opposite state of simply collapsing or slumping. Lessons in the Alexander Technique often reveal a fascinating and relatively unfamiliar terrain of experience where the body is poised, balanced and moving with much less effort than usual, while the mind also feels alert and unusually attentive.
This approach is taught in one-on-one lessons with an experienced and qualified practitioner of the technique.
