Herbal Storywalk 'Botanica fabula'

For all the people who've been asking me to do a walk and workshop in Glasgow this is the walk bit…..with stories, cake and lots of herbal facts and folklore…. the workshop will be the following week (9th June) at Re:positioned and will be fab, working with your own choice of story, recipe or anecdote about plants to create your own storybox….photographs of the end results will then come together to form a piece for a future exhibition.

We're planning a really lovely walk with traditional and new stories giving away the secret roles of plants, using the backdrop of the plants themselves, the route takes us along the river past several historic sights, there will be a chance to collect plants to press and use in a second Plants stories and Art session.

This can either be booked as a 'stand alone' event or in conjunction with the Plants, Storytelling and Art workshop at Re:positioned gallery the following weekend for a discount.

The walk will (age, ability and weather allowing ) take us from the Botanics down the Kelvinway to Kelvingrove park, with stops for stories, nutritionally heroic cake and herbal tea, a chance to spot the plants behind the stories, and to learn some more about their medical and food use with herbalist Claire MacKay www.herbalheritage.co.uk.
